Spearheaded by the combined creative force of Event Coordinator, Creative Director, and Founder Peter Ogwu, Primary Fashion Designer, Model, Tattoo Artist, and Rockstar Austin, and Photographer, Filmmaker, Art Director, and Studio Manager Logan Poe, Rarecandy New York emerged as an innovative cultural endeavor deeply rooted in the heart of Greenpoint, New York.
From its birth in 2019, Rarecandy New York was a chameleon of the art world, an ever-changing canvas that continually redefined itself. Originating as a consignment shop and vintage store under the initiative of club promoter and music producer Peter Ogwu, it rapidly evolved. Once Austin and Logan Poe joined forces with Ogwu, the establishment transformed into a dynamic space of artistic expression, hosting events, facilitating photography shoots, offering tattoo services, and operating as an exclusive boutique. Amidst all these activities, Rarecandy also embraced its lively nature as a constant hub of celebration and parties.
A magnet for artists of all forms and disciplines, Rarecandy New York welcomed rappers, musicians, designers, painters, photographers, and creatives who consistently enriched the space with their innovative ideas and artistic exchanges. If art was not being crafted, traded, or purchased, the space would inevitably be immersed in the vibrant energy of a thrilling party, ensuring that the spirit of creativity never ceased to pulsate through Rarecandy.
